The second dress that was commissioned for my lovely friend Jenn was for a wedding that she happened to be performing the ceremony for in Atlanta. This piece was initially a nice simple seventies maxi with a billowing top Jenn found at a thrift store in LA. Jenn again sent me her measurements, and requests: to shorten the dress slightly as well as to make the top more fitted with some form of interest or embellishment and a zip enclosure. The initial alterations were created and I immediately had a vision for four tiers of chiffon ruffles in varying shades of the cranberry dress, but to find such specific materials in recycled form is not always an easy feat. Luckily I came across two vintage party dresses almost immediately to create new re-purposing projects out of that had more than enough material to go around!
